This packet includes 4 Word documents and is for use with High School Trig-based physics (though could be slightly altered for Calculus Based). After years of collecting and grading daily homework, I finally came up with this method of Peer Evaluation to save time in class so we could spend more time solving problems on the board.
1) Physics Homework Tip Sheet (1 page) - Gives advice on how to format Physics homework and form good habits on things students are not used to (using scientific notation properly, including units, etc)
2) Peer Evaluation Rubric and Grade Sheet (2 pages) - detailed rubric that students use to form proper homework habits. Rubric includes evaluation of: Heading, Writing in pencil, condition of paper, whether or not the first steps are shown (not just give the answer), proper format of scientific notation, format of the "answer", and whether or not corrections are done in pen.
3) How to solve Physics Problems (2 pages) - an introduction on the logic and format of solving physics problems. Includes a step-by-step procedure as well as an example.
4) Peer Evaluation Rubric and Grade Sheet (2 pages) - detailed rubric that students use to form proper homework habits. Rubric includes evaluation of: Heading, Writing in pencil & condition of paper, whether or not a good quality sketch is included, are the "givens" listed properly, are the original formulas shown, are all the algebraic steps shown, is the logic of the problem explained, does the answer have proper units, scientific notation and is BOXED and whether or not corrections are done in pen.
