This simulation illustrates the similarities in the simple harmonic motion of the spring, the pendulum, and an object in circular motion. One screen shows how the variables of force, distance, velocity, and acceleration change with the motion. A second screen requires students to choose the magnitude of each variable at the top, bottom, and equilibrium point. A third screen shows a graph of the overall and kinetic energies as an object moves through its displacement.
The software is downloaded as an exe file. When run, this exe file will install the Simple Harmonic Motion Demo software onto your computer.
