Need a simple graphing lab for physics? Look no further! This lab requires just a few materials (listed below) to conduct and students construct three velocity-time graphs. They also draw a position-time graph and an acceleration-time graph to accompany one of the velocity-time graphs.
Materials required to conduct lab: ramps (wood boards or meter sticks work well), marbles or small toy cars, meter sticks, photogates. Photogates are a necessary to complete this lab and it CANNOT be conducted without them.
Students will construct a ramp and place the photogate at different points along the ramp in order to determine the velocity at that point. Students will record data and construct a graph. Students will repeat the experiment for different height ramps.
