This is an integrative chapter. It talks about how the muscular system and the nervous system work together to control body movement. The chapter starts with discussing receptors that are used for proprioception - joint receptors, Golgi tendon apparatus, etc. Then it talks about different reflexes the body uses to remove itself from harmful situations. This includes reciprocal inhibition, flexion reflex, and crossed extensor reflex. Did you know there is a reflex for your reflex? The human body is so cool!
Each slide has speaker notes and there are review questions at the end to be used as a review or exam questions! Happy teaching!
