Your students will love this Pi Day poster activity! It's perfect to use on March 14th, Annual Pi Day. Let your students express themselves using this 8.5 x 11 Pi Day poster. This poster will look great hanging outside your classroom as the day approaches, and parents will enjoy reading them when they are sent home.
The poster activity has plenty of places for students to add their own creative touches with color.
You could also use as a center activity or even as morning work. Use it in your classroom however you would like.
The sections for the students to fill out on the "Pi Day" poster are:
*Place for name
*What is Π?
*Why was March 14th chosen to celebrate Π Day?
*Circle search.... Look around your classroom. What items are shaped like circles.
*Picture of Einstein, who has a March 14 birthday. Fill in his name.
*What's the formula? Fill in the blanks for area, circumference, diameter,and pi. (students may need to look these up in their math book)
*Label the circle parts with area, circumference, diameter, and center, and radius
*Answer the pi themed joke
*3.14 backwards looks like PIE....name your favorite pie
*Write a math themed PI-KU.. sort of like a haiku poem, but use 3 syllables, 1 syllable, 4 syllables.
