This is a template I use to have the students "discover" pi on Pi Day (3.14). The students have four spaces to measure 4 different cookies (or round food). They write the circumference and diameter as a ratio. I like them to do the division with me, so the third column says "wait for instructions from teacher." We talk about why their answers keep coming up close to 3.14...and then they write a reflection, in their own words, what Pi is.
