Pi Day Crown Craftivity! If you don't have a lot of time to allocate to Pi Day or have kids who aren't quite ready for the concept of pi, this is a great way celebrate anyway! Be a math king or queen for the day with this fun craftivity. The crown is designed around the digits of pi, so the start of the crown has a spike that is 3 centimeters tall, the spike to the right of it is 1 cm tall, and the spike to the right of that is 4 cm tall. It keeps going in that fashion to 16 digits of pi!
Please note that this is included in Pi Day Fun unit, so please do not purchase both.
Stapler and/or Tape
Metric rulers (if doing the measuring activity - your students will measure the spikes on the crown in centimeters which will give them the digits of pi)
Stickers (gold and silver stars work well)
Glue on or self-adhesive embellishments such as pompoms, plastic gems, etc.
There are FIVE similar templates included, depending on the cutting and/or measuring ability of your students. There are also two recording sheets included, if your students are able to do the measuring part (measuring each spike). I have also included two pages of embellishments (gems and stars) if you don't have stickers available.
You will also want to be sure and visit my blog for complementary low prep Pi Day activities!
