This zipped file contains a Pi Flip Book project and a short Pi PowerPoint Presentation. The students should view the presentation prior to making the booklet. The student will give definitions for a circle, radius, circumference etc. There is a short investigatory activity in which students take the ratios of the circumference to the diameter for 3 circles. The student will draw or find pictures of 6 real world examples of pi, and find 5 facts about pi. The student will answer the question.."What is pi?" and "What does it mean to be irrational?". The flip book has 12 pages, and includes a rubric for grading.
I printed this booklet out 2 pages to 1, not including the rubric page, and ran copies back to back. So it is put in an order that it will print out nicely.
I used this in a lower track 10th grade math class. It would be a great project for middle levels also.
