Product Description

If you've been wondering how to get your first grade and second grade students involved in the fun of Pi Day, this set of Pi Day math activities for primary grades has what you need! We know that the math concepts involved with Pi Day are too advanced for most of our little learners, but there are definitely ways to turn your math activities for the day into content-relevant Pi-related practice and review.

All of the resources in this set are provided in both color and black/white, to help conserve your ink.

What's in this set?

There are six easy-prep activities:

  • Color a 120 chart by code to reveal a Pi sign. An answer key is provided.
  • Use the completed 120 chart to play a game, adding by moving up on the hundred chart.
  • "Pi Isn't Pie" 120 chart game, adding and subtracting by moving up and back on the chart
  • "Happy Pi Day" 120 chart game, adding and subtracting by moving up and back on the chart. Includes review of counting by fives
  • "Making Pi" partner game, add two dice to make and cover eight digits of Pi
  • "Making Pi" partner game, add or subtract the dots on two dice to make and cover eight digits of Pi

How can I use this set?

  • Use the activities as your math lesson on Pi Day, March 14th.
  • Have a Pi Day Celebration and include these math games and activities along with others like crafts and literacy activities.
  • Include these activities in your math centers and math rotations throughout March.
  • Keep these activities available throughout March for your early finishers and as challenge work.
