What educators are saying

Kiddo loved it and was engaged the whole time. I loved that it came with a harder set of problems! Highly recommend.

Description

Are you looking for a quick practice sheet for math skills? This set will do it! My math sets were invented to fill a need that you might also have! Here’s a fabulous set ofmath review and practice worksheets that celebrate Pi Day (March 14th).

NOTE: This set of ten math pages features pi in some way on each page. Sometimes the number for pi (3.14) is added, subtracted, or multiplied as part of the skill practice. “Pie” is also featured in the form of fraction problems or a logic puzzle. And, of course, there are problems that involve using pi to calculate the area of circles.

Possible Uses:

This set of skill sheets has many more uses, too! Sub days are the perfect time to pull these out. Homework, math centers, early finishers, intervention, and more!

What makes this set unique? Most pages include facts about pi! Win-win!

This set includes ten practice sheets covering these skills:

  • Addition of decimals, including adding 3.14 to total
  • Subtraction, including adding or subtracting 3.14 with totals
  • Multiplying 1-2 digits by 3.14
  • Multiplication and addition or subtraction of 3.14 to total
  • Determining fractional parts and addition with like denominators
  • Determining fractional parts and addition with unlike denominators
  • Calculation of area of circles
  • Logic puzzle
  • Multi-step problems

The Worksheets

  • Four of the pages have review or bonus problems included.
  • For the two pages of calculating the area of circles I provided two versions- one uses 3.14 for pi and the second uses 3.142.
  • Choose the ability level that suits your students.
  • Since this is specifically designed for 5th grade, we only used 3.14 or 3.142.

Answer keys are included! The multistep page has an additional answer page showing how to solve the problems.

Skills are based on fifth-grade standards, but may work with your fourth and sixth-graders, depending on your needs!

Standards

Fluently multiply multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm.
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals to hundredths, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method and explain the reasoning used.
Add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators (including mixed numbers) by replacing given fractions with equivalent fractions in such a way as to produce an equivalent sum or difference of fractions with like denominators. For example, 2/3 + 5/4 = 8/12 + 15/12 = 23/12. (In general, 𝘢/𝘣 + 𝘤/𝘥 = (𝘢𝘥 + 𝘣𝘤)/𝘣𝘥.)
