Pi Day (Relay Race)
Relay races provide a great alternative to group work by introducing movement and competition! Each relay requires students to be put into groups of three or four. Each group has a non-runner runner (all depending on the space available) who comes to the front and collects the first question. They return to the group and the group answer this question. When the group are happy with the answer they return the question for checking. I recommend awarding points for correct answers, and lower the points for each attempt.
Print one set of questions for each group on different color paper and assign each group a color.
This relay race consists of 16 questions on circles and Pi. It is also available as part of the Pi Day bundle.
