Designed as a gentle introduction to piano playing for young students (ages 3-6) who are not developmentally ready to learn to read music, but want to learn to play real songs, this set of 12 folk songs use only three notes (do, re, and mi). Half are in duple meter, the other half are in triple meter.
Begin by teaching the student to play with each hand separately. Then try playing in octaves with hands together. Other ways to play include transposing ("play somewhere else on the piano") and using the included harmony parts.
Five finger exercises (12 in duple meter, 12 in triple meter) are included to strengthen fingers.
Printing on 11x17 paper is optimal.
