This progress sheet is for beginning students who are at the Level 3 in their piano method books. It is to help teachers, students, and parents keep track of what the students are learning and at what pace.
Although not all Level 3 books cover the same material, this progress sheet assumes that the students have already begun to play complete scales (one octave), hands together, and dotted quarter notes.
(If students need to refresh or develop their skills in those areas, recording progress on my Piano Music Lesson Progress Sheet For Level 2 Students
may be more helpful. For recording progress in playing rhythms that include 8th note pairs and associating keys on the piano with notes on the staff, please consider the Piano Music Lesson Progress Sheet For Level 1 Students
. Or, for the very beginner piano student, there's the Piano Music Lesson Progress Sheet For Beginner Students
In learning to play music on the piano, certain disciplines and skills may be called upon or may need to be developed. The disciplines include preparedness and perseverance (patiently pushing forward with determination). Although students may not always seem prepared for a lesson, perseverance may still help the student to progress, especially if they are attentive. Skills to be developed gradually over time include ear training, rhythm patterns, sense of beat, and clean pedaling.
