Most of the ideas in this assignment book are drawn from Phillip Johnston’s Practiceopedia book. He has revolutionized my teaching! I have tweaked Mr. Johnston’s ideas to fit my movie theme and the results are this assignment/ script book.
Please feel free to use any or all of the components as they fit your needs. I personally print all the pages and bind them into books to use throughout the year.
The Parable of the Popcorn is read and discussed at the first lesson. I like to give a bag of microwave popcorn as a treat, too!
Whenever you see “Lights” in the lower right hand corner we are illuminating why we are doing a particular preparation task (e.g. learning scales).
Whenever you see a “Camera” in the lower right hand corner we are giving a snapshot in how to practice.
Whenever you see a “Clapboard” (for “Action”) we are talking about performance techniques.
There are 36 weeks worth of assignment pages.
