This is my version of "Pictionary," a game that references key intermediate and advanced language vocabulary. This is a fun way for students of different levels to work together to build and strengthen vocabulary.
To play: divide your classroom into teams. Depending on their level, you probably want to limit teams to 3-5 players. At the start of each round, pick a card from the pile and designate a "drawer" for each team. Team drawers then choose a single word to draw and have a certain amount of time (suggestion: 1-2 minutes) to get their teammates to guess the word. The first successful team to guess the correct word earns the number of points listed for the chosen word.
Note: you can also play with the entire class; one drawer represents the word to all class members at the same time, and the individual who first guesses the word keeps the card.
