Pumpkin picking has never been such fun! In these interactive games your students will choose a pumpkin then read the pattern behind it. Additionally, teaching extension ideas have been included as well as a set of three different worksheets (two of them have two versions: one with rhythms written with note heads and one written without note heads). These worksheets will promote musical writing, dictation and composition skills.
To play, you simply click on a pumpkin in the PDF files. The students will then read the rhythmic pattern hiding behind the pumpkin. You could choose to play in teams and see who can correctly read more pumpkins correctly or you could use these in centers.
Two interactive PDFs are included: one written in stick notation with note heads and one written in stick notation without note heads.
*** These files are NON-specific to a counting system- they will work interchangeably with whatever counting system you use in your classroom.
Rhythmic included in this file:
ta ti-ti (quarter note and barred eighth notes)
rest (quarter rest)
tika-tika (four barred sixteenth notes)
ti-tika (one eighth-two sixteenth notes)
tika-ti (two sixteenth-one eighth note)
tim-ka (dotted eighth-sixteenth notes)
** Please make sure to run the files through Acrobat. The hyperlinks will not work if you try to run them through Preview.
