Picking Flowers - syncopa
This no prep game is ready to use in the elementary or middle school classroom. Perfect for Spring in the music room! Project onto the board. Your students can use Koosh balls, or tap/click on the stocking that they want to peek into. They will be presented with a rhythm pattern. If they get the pattern right, the get a "great job!" If they get it wrong, they will see an "Oops! Try again!" page and will be redirected back to the flowers. This can be played as a team game or individually.
I plan to use this as an individual rhythm reading assessment this Spring in my own classes so that I can track student growth.
This file may be used with any system for reading rhythms.
I have included BOTH a file with stick notation only as well as standard notation with note heads to give you the option for what will work best with your kids at each grade level.
Please let me know if there is another rhythm concept you want to see added!
I have included game directions as well as a list of all the rhythm patterns included in each set.
If you do not have the capability to project onto a board, you could print and laminate just the rhythm pages and use magnets or tape to put them on the board for an assessment.
