This activity includes exercises for children learning and expanding use of communication boards, icons, and AAC. It may also be used to target expanding vocabulary and length of utterances with verbal students. This activity packet may be used by SLPs as well as special education teachers and targets matching, requesting, relating experiences and information, answering questions, following directions, categorizing, prepositions, and developing understanding and use of icons. Parents will love to see this activity come home with their students as well as a copy of the attached communication board so they can review the activity with their child!!

Page 7. Comprehension questions (related to cut and glue picnic page 6) in color. I like to use Do-a-dots for my kids who are unable to use a pencil to circle answers.
Page 8: Blank categories page to glue on pictures under headings (Spring items vs. Winter items).
Page 9: Black and white category pictures. 5 pictures that depict spring (flower, bee, butterfly, seeds, watering can) and 5 pictures that depict winter(igloo, snowman,, eskimo, scarf, penguin ). Pictures to be colored by student and glued under given category on page 8.
Page 10: Communication board (in color) to be used with cut and paste activities and comprehension questions.
