Hello! Thank you for visiting my "Math Is Not Daunting" store!
This is a project for which students will have the opportunity to represent the data that they collect. They will choose a question which will be used to create their unique data. Students will record their data in a tally chart. Then, students will represent that data in a bar graph and a pictograph. This project does not include graph paper to use for the creation of the bar graphs. You may use regular graph paper for that part of the project. It does include a pictograph structure which students can use to create their pictographs. For the interpretation of the data section, you would need to explain to students how to create their three statements. You may edit the project in any way that you would like as it is attached as a Word document.
To complete the project, students need to be able to represent data in a bar graph and a pictograph. Therefore, this project correlates with the first part of 3.MD.3, which is, as stated on the "corestandards" site: "Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories."
Thank you for your time!
