When Monroe County Police Department’s lead detective gets a frantic phone call from Mr. Cook, principal of Labels Elementary School, saying the whole school has gone blind, she’s sure it’s a prank. But then she enters the building and quickly realizes it’s not. The students and staff are going about their business like sleepwalkers: the nurse is using a carrot as a thermometer, the cafeteria aides are squeezing ketchup packets on kids’ heads, and the art teacher is painting on a student’s face instead of a canvas. As if it couldn’t get any weirder, she comes to find out that Mr. Cook didn’t become blind like the rest of them. She wonders...could he be behind it all?
