Show your kids what they need to do!
152 picture cards for giving instructions or directions. There are 4 cards per page.
Either teaching English as an Additional Language or in need of a visual aid to your spoken instructions.
Just print, cut and laminate these cards to use them in multpiple ways.
Hold them up while you explain the steps to an activity or the specific way you want your children to work. Attach them to the wall and number the steps of the activity in the order they have to be carried out. Children can check back and not have to ask constantly: “What do I have to do next?”
Emergent readers start associating written language to your spoken instructions; and kids who need an extra visual aid, to understand and follow instructions get what they need.
You have instruction cards about:
-Actions with the basic materials of the class (write, draw, cut, color, clip, tape, trace, etc.)
-Actions with different games and materials of the class (tally, count, group, play, pattern, etc.)
-Actions to take with text or worksheets (match, underline, cross out, circle, etc.)
-Attitudes toward work, the teacher and each other (share, observe, help each other, silently, etc.)
-Actions to take after finishing work (pick up, clean up, sweep, file, etc.)
-Organization and different ways to work together (buddy read, in pairs, to the circle, line up, divide work, etc.)
-Abstract actions (think, imagine, take turns, classify, guess, etc.)
-Learning centers or areas in the class (math center, smart board, abc center, nature center, etc.)
