The bad news is that while reading, many students' brains often go off to La-La Land! The WORSE news is, they often don't even realize it is happening!
This graphic organizer will help students get in the practice of making a mental picture while the read--an excellent strategy to aid in comprehension. Students will draw their mental pictures in the provided frames, and make a note of which pages they read that helped create the vision. Reluctant writers appreciate the opportunity to draw an image and it keeps all students self-aware of whether or not they are really attending the to meaning.
I meant to put this item together along with the a few other organizers I have for comprehension, but I can't seem to find the time to pull them all together! So, for now, here it is solo. I hope your students enjoy using this organizer as part of a novel study or in response to non-fiction text.
