Description
Do your speech therapy students love hands-on interactive activities and do you love themed therapy to meet a variety of goals, including following directions, answering questions, using sentences, and generating narratives? Check out this summer-themed language scenes barrier activity, craft, and cut and paste reinforcement.
Included in this resource:
Barrier Activity: 3 barrier scenes & 30 spring images (10 each scene)
Suggested use: Print 2 of each scene. Place in sheet protectors. Print 2 pages of each of the character/image sets. Cut each image. Laminate, if desired. Place 2 students across from each other with a divider. Have students take turns giving and receiving directions. Barrier scenes can also be used for creating sentences and narratives.
Crustacean Craftivity:
You need a white paper plate painted with red paint OR a red paper/plastic plate (not included). Cut paper plate in half. One half is needed for each crab. Copy/print page 10 on cardstock for durability, if desired. Trace templates for legs and pincher on red construction paper (not included). Trace template for eye on white or black construction paper (not included). Glue each leg on the sides of the paper plate. Glue the eyes on the flat part. Glue the pinchers on the bottom rounded part. Fold each leg and pincher accordion style. Copy My Crafty Crustacean frames (page 9) on white paper (one frame per crab). Write target words or an “I can” statement within the frame. Cut out and use the Crafty Crustacean frame on the body of the crab. Glue to the back side of the paper plate.
Beach Ballin’ Snip & Stick Reinforcement:
Suggested use: Use as reinforcement after practicing any target skill. Students will cut each beach ball
and glue onto the beach chair after practicing a target skill.
