This set can be used in Guided Reading groups to build Phonemic Awareness. There are Short Vowel Pictures to sort and CVC Word Cards to read. When you teach students to read, they must first be able to segment sounds and hear the individual consonants and vowel sounds in a word. This set of Picture Sorts will help students hear short vowel sounds in the middle of words. The CVC Word Cards help students transition to reading words.
