This is a great activity that brings together math and art. It looks great on the classroom or multipurpose room walls. I use it prior to winter break. Our math book does not have us teaching fractions yet, but because fractions are so heavily weighted on the state test, we begin teaching it a few weeks into the school year.I usually make the students complete the math problems first and show them to me and then I give them the picture page. The kids love this activity and it is easy for you to grade, just look at their picture and see if they got it right. I don't use any actual Christmas symbols, so all my students can participate. Sometimes I have them do the math work in class and the picture part is a may do or homework. The students love to work on the "Picture This" Math. As I create more I will add them to my collection. I will be adding 2nd grade ones soon!
