Product Description
What is it?: Students can use this page to compose rhythms using different kinds of pie! They begin by composing using words (i.e. Apple Pie). Then, they transfer their words to rhythms on the bottom half of the sheet (i.e. Ti-ti ta).

Use: I used this for my students practice ti-tika (8th-16th-16th). I also used this in conjunction with the folk song Great Big House in New Orleans as the A section and student compositions as the B section.

Extension: Students could play their rhythms on un-pitched percussion, or even compose a pentatonic melody to go with their rhythm.
