Grab a shoe box. Print out these cards. Get ready for LITERALLY an endless fluency practice game.
Students draw "blindly" out of the shoe box a card. They read the word. If they read it correctly, they keep the card and pass the box to the next student. If they read it incorrectly, they put the card back. The box gets passed around the group. If a student gets a pie in the face (a pie splat card), they are required to put all their cards back in the box, whether they have 3 or 30 cards. The game will never end until you say stop. The person with the most cards wins.
Copy as many Splat Cards as you would like to increase difficulty.
A more complex way of playing is the above method, but they also have to say a rhyming word as well. Another way is the above method, but they must put the word in a sentence or write the word in a sentence.
Enjoy! Don't get SPLAT!
