Pg. 9- 13 Season Words – classify and categorize season words – copy pages A and B back to back – add the cover – match the correct season pictures to the season – glue them in place - write some season words that go with that season
Pg. 14-17 My Favorite Pie Is… - a writing and craft activity – copy the patterns onto appropriate colored construction paper – add squares of colored tissue paper depending on what flavor pie you are making – add the strips of brown paper across the top to form a lattice crust (four strips go one direction with the 2 small strips on either end – and three strips go in the opposite direction crossing the other strips) – add cotton balls stretched out for whipped cream – write about your favorite pie and how you would make it – see example
Pg. 18-27 Making Cherry Pies! – a game to practice your High-Frequency Words – every player gets a pie game board – put the cherry cards and animal cards face down on the cherry tree – take turns picking a card and reading the word on the card – if you read it correctly, place it on your pie – if you pick of a bird card, lose a turn – if you pick up a raccoon card, put all your cherries back into the pile – whoever has the most cherries on their pie at the end of the game wins
Pg. 28-36 Cherry Pie Words! – use the cherries to practice your sounds – put the letters together to make words – record the words by writing them in your Cherry Pie Word Book- copy pages A and B back to back to form the book
