This resource allows our students to show their knowledge of literary elements by getting away from those boring book reports. My students used to dread the task of the normal book report, but now look forward to completing a book so that they may work on one of these! This resource has the students work with different literary elements such as: Plot, Genre, Main Character/Character Traits, Problem/Solution, Setting, Comparing and Contrasting, Point of View, as well as a piece that allows them to explain whether they would recommend this book to others.
There are 3 different sizes to choose from, and a few of the pieces have two different versions-you can choose to supply your students with the version that has graphic organizers, or you can choose the blank ones and have the students decide how they want to represent that information. The sizes are convenient so that students can do them on any scale-individually with the small one-page puzzles, or use the largest one and have the students split up and work collaboratively to complete the different pieces of a read aloud that you all enjoyed together.
