This activity meets the curriculum standards for Ontario, grade 10 CHC2D (Canadian History from the 20th century).
Can be applied to other Canadian history programs that examine Pierre Trudeau and Rene Levesque. It's a good way to introduce to your students who each of these visionaries were and what they had in common.
Students are to listen to a podcast episode (free and available on the web and linked in the document as a url). As students listen, they complete the chart on the activity sheet. In the activity, students will compare the two leaders by listening to the two podcasts.
Each podcast is approximately 8 minutes in length and when allowing for pausing and writing, lesson would take approximately 20 minutes. An answer key has been provided for you as well!
