This video demonstrates the Piet Mondrian Art Lesson that incorporates printmaking and painting into one art project. The video is broken down into 2 segments: Day 1 -Printing Lines, and Day 2 - Painting. This lesson is geared for students in grades Kindergarten through 3rd grade. Students love this project and all students feel successful! Save time! Play the demonstration video for your students while you prep the paint and materials. Making videos to play in my classroom has saved me countless hours and ensures that all students are getting the same instruction.
This video is included in the Piet Mondrian Art Lesson Bundle which includes the written lesson plan (detailed prep notes, objectives, national standards, visual step by step process, and rubric), Piet Mondrian powerpoint, 3-word searches of varying difficulty levels as extensions for early finishers, and an assessment (powerpoint format) with an answer recording sheet and answer key. This entire lesson takes 3-4 class periods if working from the lesson plan. Prior to this lesson, I spent one-day reviewing lines, one-day reviewing shapes, and one day teaching the basic color wheel. I also have the line and shape worksheets I use as a review for free in my TpT store.
