Combine pretend play and play dough with articulation practice for piles of fun with these pancake-themed play dough mats.
The play dough mats included in this freebie feature the F sound in initial, medial and final positions of single words in colorful, appealing pictures. They are just like the ones featured in my other Piles of Pancakes products.
This freebie includes:
3 pancake griddle mats with 12 target sound pictures on each mat
2 plate mats for stacking play dough pancakes
How to play:
Print mats on card stock and laminate.
Give each student a pancake griddle mat to use, 12 small play dough balls (I like to make the play dough balls ahead of time), and a plate mat.
The students take a play dough ball and pat it onto a pancake circle on the griddle mat, saying the target word three times.
Repeat until all pancake circles are filled.
Students use a spatula to flip each play dough pancake and say the word under each pancake.
Students then transfer each pancake to the plate mats, saying each target word as they stack the pancakes on top of each other on the plate.
Students try to stack all 12 pancakes on top of each other without the stack falling.
My kids absolutely love this one!
