This emergent reader can be used in either guided reading groups or whole group. Introduce your children to the sight words “so” and “in” with this emergent reader that has a repetitive text comparing pilgrim life to life today. Have your students read and recognize sight words in the book and practice writing them and locating them in sentences. Also included are follow-up activities where students can demonstrate their ability to read and recognize the sight words “in”, and “so”, as well as a comprehension sheet asking questions about the text. This book and follow up is in alignment with the Common Core Learning Standards; RFK1, RFK3 and RFK4.
