Product Description
Pilgrims, Puritans, and Jamestown Webquest and Video Analysis with Key- this is a 14 page document that contains a webquest and a completed teachers key for easy marking. It contains 37 questions based on a Crash Course U.S. History video and the History.com website.

Students will be introduced to the initial English colonies in the New World by watching the video: Crash Course U.S. History: When is Thanksgiving? Colonizing America. The video will introduce the Jamestown colony in Virginia and discuss how tobacco was the commodity that allowed the first successful English colony to thrive. The mysterious Roanoke colony is also mentioned. The New England colonies which were settled by the Puritans and the Pilgrims are also discussed at great lengths. The difference between the two groups, their devout faith, and the hardships they endured in the New World are all covered. Following the video students will proceed to the history.com website where they will watch addition videos about the Puritans and the Pilgrims, read corresponding articles on the two groups, and gain a firmer understanding of how these settlers began to shape the nation that would later emerge from these early colonies.

This webquest can be easily used as an introduction to the topic, a study guide, or a quick and easy sub plan.
