The Pilgrims and The First Thanksgiving: Poster Activity
Let your students express what they know about the Pilgrims' voyage, what they were seeking, their harvest celebration, and more by using this 8.5 x 11 poster (landscape) that focuses on their journey.
This poster will look great hanging outside your classroom and parents will enjoy reading them when they are sent home.
The Thanksgiving/Pilgrims poster activity has plenty of places for students to add their own creative touches with color.
The sections for the students to fill out are:
**place for name
**Show on the map where the Pilgrims began and landed. Connect the places to show their journey.
**What kind of freedom were the Pilgrims seeking?
**What was the Mayflower Compact?
**What was the first winter like for the Pilgrims in their new land?
**Jobs of Pilgrim Boys
**Jobs of Pilgrim Girls
**Explain what life was like while traveling on the Mayflower.
**Who was Squanto, and how did he help the Pilgrims?
**How did the Pilgrims celebrate their successful harvest of 1621? Who was there and what did they do?
**How does your family celebrate Thanksgiving?
*****This would be a great follow up activity after doing a class reading or watching a video.
Use as a center activity or even as morning work. Use it in your classroom however you would like.
