‘Pineapples’ is a free tutorial for step-by-step procedures on how to use the wasted tops of pineapples purchased at the supermarket to start a plantation in the classroom or home garden. It is simple and fun! And soon the students will be growing their very own crop of pineapples. This activity is something that could be started at the beginning of a school year, and the students could then follow the growth of their pineapple plants throughout the rest of the year. Also, combine this activity with lessons on plant nutrition (Leaflet No.2.; Andy’s Science Club) and conduct real research into how much fertilizer to give the plants for optimal growth.
