Short Vowel Sounds can be tricky for young students and can be especially difficult when they are paired with long vowel sounds.
Pink Lemonade Short Vowel Sounds is a great way to introduce or master the skill of hearing those short vowel sounds. With different game boards and image cards these work with a variety of students and can be used as an independent center or a small group activity.
To assemble, simply print out the pieces that you wish to use. Laminate and cut out the boards and the game pieces. Use velcro or magnet tape to attach the pieces to the boards or just use as us.
To play, choose a ending sound letter or blend and find the matching image cards, place them on the board.
There are several options for each sound so I suggest that you don't put them all out at the same time. Choose a few sounds to begin with and rotate through the options.
Another idea is to use this as a file folder game. Paste the boards in to a file folder & laminate the whole thing. Attach a zip top baggie to the back to hold all the individual game pieces.
If using as an independent center, consider using tablets to have kids record their answers.
