PPT in PDF format to review the most famous Hispanic and Spanish painters. PPT has 30 slides. Great to review for Hispanic Heritage Month and make connections to art. This PPT is a nice addition to my Beauty and Aesthetics unit.
Afterwards students select one painter to research. They write a brief biography in Spanish for the painter they selected. To further enhance the lesson I also have them select one painting of the author they researched and analyze the painting. They have to answer; ¿Cómo se llama la pintura? ¿Por qué has escogido esa pintura?
Students can analyze paintings verbally as well to the class and earn points for oral presentations.
If time permits, students can also color famous paintings. Below are some links for coloring pages. I would have them color the pages on Fun Fridays. They can also color the pages while viewing a documentary for one of the famous painters. You Tube has many great documentaries.
Great lesson to practice writing while making connections to art.
