Students use fractions to increase a recipe in baking. You will take the apple crisp recipe and increase it so it might feed the entire class and if you choose to actually bake it, directions for baking in a Dutch oven or regular oven are included.
Student will compute half the recipe, 1½ times the recipe size, double the recipe, and triple the recipe.
This is a super fun math lesson for showing the importance of math and fractions in baking while reinforcing your pioneer and Oregon Trail unit.
