** This is a follow-up set from Pirate Bingo - Irregular Verbs in Past Simple 1
, with 31 new verbs from everyday usage, a new scene and a different design on the cards. These can be added to the previous pack or kept separately to build up skill level. **
Most verbs are made into their past tense form by adding -ed. However, English has hundreds of everyday verbs that do not fit into this structure and need to be learnt. Many of these have tricky spellings which also need to be learnt by sight recognition (like 'caught') and many are included in the Dolche sight word lists. This resource makes learning them fun and is a good way to introduce a tactile or kinaesthetic element to vocabulary learning.
Included are 32 bingo cards with a pirate theme feature a different combination of 31 different common irregular verbs. Teachers can read different cues to cross off the list and the first student to cross them all off wins.
The game has been modified into three levels - easy, intermediate and advanced - and also comes with a pre-test scene to set the piratey mood, get students to think in past simple and to test what they already know. A word list is also provided, along with some cute pirate awards for the winners of each round if you you choose to use them.
Resources are provided mostly as ready-to-print pdfs with cutting marks included. The scene is also provided as a png to use on an interactive whiteboard. I recommend laminating the cards to reuse.
If grammar isn't your thing, don't worry - it has been explained in the set and all the instructions you'll need are included.
There are 31 everyday verbs included and more sets will be added with the same theme. These are appropriate for younger, primary or grade school learners as well as in the ESL or TESOL classroom.
I hope you enjoy them and I would appreciate any feedback! Thanks for checking out my store!
