These cards provide fun and inviting math centers for little pirates to practice counting quantities to 20. This packet has 5 Count and Clip Card activities. There are 21 clothespin clip cards for each activity. There is a set of clothespin clip cards with pirate themed graphics, tens frames, and a choice of three numerals printed on each card. The pirate themed graphics include a pirate ship, parrots, treasure chests, and kids dressed as pirates.
Print, laminate, and cut out the clothespin clip cards. You will need 21 clothespins for each activity.
Learners determine the quantity represented by the ten frames and clip a clothespin on the correct numeral or they can use dry erase markers to circle the correct numeral. You may opt to make these cards self-checking by writing the answer on the back or marking a dot on the back at the correct spot. You may place the cards in a dollar store photo album and use dry erase markers to use as a write-on/wipe-off activity. Store the cards and clips in a zippered supply pouch to make early finisher activities or take home packets.
These cards help learners develop numeracy and support the Math Common Core Standards for Counting and Cardinality.
The graphics used in this packet are from My Cute Graphics and Heather Ayers of Fun for Learning.
