This pirate themed game introduces and reviews the concept of basic adjectives. It explains to the students that adjectives are describing words that answer the questions, "What kind?" "Which one?" "How many?"
It includes the following components:
**Introduction to adjectives with examples.
**The students will be given a list of four words and asked to find the one that is not an adjective. There are 10 questions in this format.
**The students will be asked to find the adjective(s) in a sentence. There are 20 questions in this format.
**The Lightening Round! Sixteen words will flash on the screen and the students will be asked if the words are adjectives or not.
These activities can be used as an independent center, team game, or whole group with the students answering the questions on their own and then checking them together as a class. Students can answer the questions on dry erase boards, paper, journals, etc. The answers follow all of the questions, so the students get instant feedback.
