Are your students ready to get moving? Do they need to enhance their listening and recall skills? Pirate Island is the first in the Hear! Think! Do! Series, all of which build auditory skills and teach kids to listen, make connections, and get moving in fun ways!
Pirate Island is an engaging activity that helps children of all ages practice hearing a verbal cue and recalling an action associated with that cue. You will love watching your children listen and recalling--and they'll love remembering and racing to the next "island". Pirate Island can easily be modified for any elementary age-group using the differentiation suggestions included. While great as an outdoor activity, Pirate Island can also be done right in your classroom, if you choose! It requires very little preparation (so the fun can begin right away) and works perfectly in a PE setting.
Your Pirate Island file includes ten full-color Action Cards and two additional cards that teach you exactly how to play, including modifications for both younger and older students. Plan on making several copies of each page of Action Cards so that actions can be repeated more than once during the game. Completely original artwork make this unique activity even more delightful and engaging.
