This is a fun and educationally relevant activity that can be played in conjunction with the Pop-Up Pirate game (not included). Students select cards and respond to the questions targeting multiple meaning words. Perfect for developing vocabulary and metalinguistic skills.
How to play Pirate Multiple Meaning Game:
Game can be played with any number of players.
Place all cards face down on the table.
Players take turns drawing a picture card and responding to the question listed on the card.
Player then chooses a pop-up pirate sword that matches the color of the sword on his/her card and inserts it into the barrel (Pirate Pop-Up game not included).
Play continues until the pirate pops out of his barrel.
Word pairs used: bark, bat, fly, stamp, trip, ring, wave, bowl, duck, fall, glasses, light, park, scale, jam, watch, pen, bill, calf, pitcher, and ruler
Instructions: Print the picture cards and describing reference cards. Laminate cards if desired for added durability. Follow the directions for Pirate Pop-Up (game not included) game play.
