This Pirate Themed My Text Structures Booklet goes along with my Text Structures Lesson that is also available at my TPT store, Arrrsome in Fifth.
Each student receives a copy of the booklet. When copying, I use the two per page setting, which means that each page of the booklet is actually the size of half of a sheet of copy paper.
I have my students use the booklet to take notes and fill in info as we go through the lesson. The structures covered are: description, sequence, compare and contrast, cause and effect, and problem and solution. Each page of the booklet has the structure at the top and sections for definition, signal words, sample graphic organizers, and written examples.
After we get through with the lesson and the booklets, I have my students either glue or staple them into their interactive writing journals. I've seen my students refer to their Text Structures Booklet over and over throughout the school year.
Please check out my TPT store, Arrrsome in Fifth, for more writing resources. Thank you!
