This set contains several activities to practice 28 pirate words and phrases. Here are the directions for each:
Vocabulary Glossary: Uses the vocabulary sheet it does (pg 2-3). Every pirate needs a good glossary, make your own and be sure to include some good examples! Answer key be found on pg 16-17.
Vocabulary Match: Uses the ship and flag cards it does (pgs 4-7). The ships’ captains have been hit on the head one to many times and can’t remember what each ship’s name means. Help them by matching the correct definition flag to each ship’s name.
Meaning Slap: Uses sentence cards and slap cards it does (pg 8-11). Decide if the sentence read to ye makes sense and be the first to slap the correct answer (aye or nay) with ye swatter to continue to the next round. Do it smartly or ye’ll be doin’ the next readin’ instead of slappin’.
Sentence Scoot: Uses sentence strips and recording sheet it does (pg 12-14). Read the sentence that is passed to ye. Decide which vocabulary word will best complete the sentence and write it on ye recording sheet. At the signal pass the sentence to your mate. Answer key be found on pg 15.
