Product Description
This is an interactive unit that goes along with the book Pirates Past Noon. I will be using this book as a read aloud with my first grade students but it could easily be used in a small group or literature circle type setting. Included in this unit are: comprehension questions for each chapter, a opinion writing assignment with a prewriting activity, a narrative writing assignment with a pre-writing activity, science and social studies connections, a treasure map craft and writing activity, a literature comparison activity comparing Pirates Past Noon to the picture book How I Became A Pirate, an ar (r-controlled vowel) word hunt and corresponding craft, and a pirate craft. This unit would also go along with my pirate word of the day and would be a great addition to any pirate unit.
