Within this unit are different vocabulary worksheets to go along with the story, Pirates Past Noon. The words were chosen based on what words my students would have trouble understanding. The worksheets are broken down into chapters.
Each worksheet contains that vocabulary for two chapters. The tasks on each worksheet vary. There are fill in the blanks, matching, synonyms, antonyms, and sentence writing.
The words chosen are: medallion, engraved, squawked, mysterious, horizon, pirate, glinting, snatched, struggled, vile, greedy, squinted, lubber, brutes, shuddered, bagpipes, hauled, mutineers, suggestion, swine, stretching, screeching, enchantress, clutched, scribes, and combination.
Before each chapter my students and I go over the words and look them up in the dictionary. When the two chapters are done being read, we review the words and they complete the worksheet.
There is a quiz to close the unit.
