What educators are saying

This was such a time saver!! It was very easy for me to add in my questions and answers and saved me the time and struggle of having to figure out how to make the pixel art myself!
A great resource I've used in all my classes for a fun review before tests or just in place of them taking a quiz at the end of a chapter.

Description

Create your own digital color by number so students can practice/review any concept in any subject area. These are self-checking pixel art, color by answer activities in Google Sheets! No moving pieces - students enter their answers to the questions and coloring appears on the grid.

** If you aren't using Google Classroom but can access Google links, you can download the Google Sheets into Excel and use the templates in Excel.

Check out the Preview above to see what's included and see a quick video demo.

This easy-to-use resource includes a PDF with:

  • 6 Links to 6 different Color by Answer Templates in Google Sheets
  • Instructions
  • Link to video instructions/demo

Creating Your Color by Answers

  • Great for any subject, but I recommend using questions that are relatively short and have short answers (one-two words or numbers). You can resize the question and answer cells, but if they’re resized too much, everything won’t fit onscreen at once; students will need to scroll back and forth to see everything.
  • Follow the detailed instructions included for how to create your color by answers from the templates, AND/OR
  • Watch the video tutorial that's linked in the download, where I walk you through the creation steps.

Using the Color by Numbers

  • Students view in Edit Mode: Students answer the 15 questions listed in the sheet and type their answers into the given spaces. This is self-checking - if they answer correctly, parts of the grid will automatically be colored in. If the answer is incorrect, no color will be added.
  • The questions in the sheet are editable for you, and a warning will pop-up if students attempt to change them – this should help prevent them from changing questions accidentally.
  • You can assign your new color by answers in Google Classroom, so each student has their own copy.

These are for classroom/personal use only – not for commercial use.
