This is a primary source analysis of Jared Diamond’s Guns, Germs, and Steel that has been made accessible to any regents level class room. Here students will explore Pizarro conquering the Inca’s while accessing prior knowledge, and developing their source analysis skills.
Included is a PowerPoint that guides the lesson, chapter three in PDF form, and source analysis questions for students to complete before, during, and after the reading. This can be done independently, or in pairs. It can also be easily leveled up to AP by providing the entire chapter to students.
I recommend printing page six of the pdf as well for those students who complete their work quickly, or are genuinely interested in the discussion that follows the provided primary source.
